노틀담 대성당 뒤에 있는 공원 안에 위치해있다. 2005.1.25 에 개관하였다. Martyrs Francais de la deportation 1945 란 글이 쓰여있다. 홀로코스트 [Holocaust]란 단어는 일반적으로 인간이나 동물을 대량으로 태워 죽이거나 대학살하는 행위를 총칭하지만, 고유명사로 쓸 때는 제2차세계대전 중 나치스 독일에 의해 자행된 유대인 대학살을 뜻한다. 특히 1945년 1월 27일 폴란드 아우슈비츠의 유대인 포로수용소가 해방될 때까지 600만 명에 이르는 유대인이 인종청소라는 명목 아래 나치스에 의해 학살되었는데, 인간의 폭력성, 잔인성, 배타성, 광기가 어디까지 갈 수 있는지를 극단적으로 보여주었다는 점에서 20세기 인류 최대의 치욕적인 사건으로 꼽힌다. 그럼에도 보스니아 내전이나 르완다의 종족분쟁, 킬링필드로 불리는 캄보디아 내전 등 세계 곳곳에서 대량 학살이 자행됨으로써 홀로코스트 문제가 여전히 국제적인 문제로 남아 있다. 20세기 최대의 대학살로 꼽히는 만큼 이 홀로코스트를 주제로 한 영화·소설·다큐멘터리 등도 많이 등장했는데, 그 중에서도 아우슈비츠의 대학살을 다룬 스티븐 스필버그 감독의 영화 《쉰들러 리스트》는 광기에 희생당한 유대인들의 이야기를 객관적이고 사실적으로 그려내 아카데미상 7개 부문을 수상하기도 하였다. 또 홀로코스트의 주범 아돌프 아이히만(Karl Adolf Eichmann)을 찾기 위해 16년에 걸친 추적 끝에 법정에 세우기까지의 과정을 그린 다큐멘터리 《크라임 스토리》를 비롯해 홀로코스트 희생 유대인 휴면계좌 공개, 홀로코스트 희생자 추모 행사 등 홀로코스트에 관한 뉴스는 20세기가 지난 시점에도 인종·민족·국가·종교를 초월해 인권 회복 차원에서 여전히 주목받고 있다. 사살 사진

 

독일군 병사가 지난 1941-43년 사이 우크라이나 빈니차에서 벌어진 유대인 집단처형 중 한 우크라이나 유대인을 사살하고 있다. 이 사진 역시 파리 홀로코스트 기념관이 제공했다.
