Rio de Janeiro Cathedral exterior (출처-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rio_de_Janeiro_Cathedral)
1552년에 처음 건축되었다는 설이 있으나 현재의 대성당은 40년간의 건축 끝에 1954년에 완성되었다.지하철 세(SE)역 광장에 위치해 있는 대성당은 고딕양식으로 돔의 직경은 27m,높이 65m으로 수용 인원은 약 8.000명이며 대성당의 내부에는 역대 상파울로 사제들의 시신이 안에 안치되어 있고 브라질의 종교사를 그린 스테인드글래스가 볼만하다.성당 앞 광장에는 상파울로의 방위 기점과 거리 원점이 기록되어 있다.
